Dermalogica was founded in 1986 by United Kingdom-trained skin therapist, Jane Wurwand. After moving to the United States, Jane opened a small classroom in Marina del Rey, California under the name The International Dermal Institute (IDI). She invited licensed skin therapists to complete hands-on postgraduate training that emphasized the health of the skin and not just beauty. Today, IDI is considered the international gold-standard for postgraduate skin and body therapy training with 37 locations worldwide.
Jane quickly realized there were no product lines that embraced her vision for skin health, so she began to create her own linke of products that delivered professional results and were free of common irritants and ingredients that could cause breakouts (including lanolin, SD alcohol, mineral oil, artificial colors and fragrances). Today her legacy continues with multiple product lines designed to treat common skin ailments on the face and body.
