Microneedling is done with a cosmetic device known as a motorized microneedling pen. The pen looks like a fountain pen with a cartridge of needles at the end. Microneedling is also referred to as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). When microneedling, tiny needles from a motorized microneedling pen are used to make microscopic punctures in the skin. The microscopic holes created during the treatment (also known as microchannels) trigger a trauma/healing response in your skin. Your skin perceives that there has been a small injury and floods the tissue with the signal to naturally produce more collagen and elastin to heal the ‘wound.’ As the skin heals, skin imperfections soften and even disappear entirely. Naturally, by design, the skin heals itself and the results are plumper, tighter, smoother, and more youthful skin. Depending on the results and skin type the Trained Esthetician will adjust the microneedling depth of the needles for optimal results.
It is effective in treating acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, texture, tone, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, and more. A series of three treatments is recommended for the best results. Microneedling is an ideal anti-aging treatment.
Microneedling is well tolerated by most men and women. You might feel a slight pricking or pinching sensation as the device glides over your face. Areas where your skin is thinner, such as your forehead and chin, are sometimes slightly more sensitive.
Using a microneedling pen with a 'nano' cartridge The term ‘Nano needling’ is actually a misnomer. There are actually no needles at all on a nano cartridge! In fact, instead of needles, the cartridge contains microscopic silicone or stainless steel cones. When these cones interact with the surface of your skin, they create tiny channels in the very top dead layer of skin - the stratum corneum. While these tiny channels are invisible to the eye, they’re able to gently separate surface skin cells to allow much better absorption of topical products. Products penetrate an average of 97% better when used in conjunction with nano needling! Typically we’ll use serums that address skin issues in top levels: dehydration, dullness, and pigmentation issues. Why we like it: We choose the right serums for the results you want and layer them so your skin will be hydrated and glowing. Because nano needling is superficial, we can do it as often as we like without having to 'overthink' protocols, hygiene, and what we should/shouldn't do before/after. Pro tips: We love to nanoneedle my lips and the neck on a regular basis to keep the areas hydrated and infuse products for those specific areas.
Needle depth 0.2mm to 0.3mm Cosmetic Microneedling involves using microneedles (always hygienically!!) to create micro-injuries through to the epidermis. Because we stay at the epidermis with cosmetic microneedling, we're not going deep enough to injure blood vessels and generally should see a flushed look or erythema rather than bleeding. When the microneedles enter our epidermis, injury to our keratinocytes (the primary cell type at this level of our skin) leads to up-regulation or ‘supercharging’ of genes that, in turn, signal RESIDENT FIBROBLASTS (our collagen producing powerhouses) to make healthy collagen. Because cosmetic microneedling happens WITHOUT piercing blood vessels, we get healthy collagen generation without triggering inflammation, which means no downtime for you. You still get the benefits of product absorption. This is why most people start with this treatment or use it for regular skin maintenance. Why we like it: The clinical studies on this are astounding and the results are proven over time. This is the gold standard in anti-aging maintenance. We also love the fact that you get collagen generation, product absorption will have no downtime. Beautiful skin!
Using a cartridge at depth 0.5+ Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), or microneedling (0.5mm+) involves injury of blood vessels and platelets. Injured platelets release growth factors and MYOFIBROBLASTS that contribute to the generation of collagen. On the downside, inherently CIT also releases inflammatory cytokines from within the platelets. Additionally, needling at a deeper level creates a higher pain threshold and we use a topical anesthetic. Basically, we are going deeper with the needle and then giving the skin 1-7 days to heal. So yes your skin will appear sunburned and you have to give it a bit more TLC than the more superficial microneedling, but the results are radiant. During the 4-6 weeks while the body is building a stronger structure, we recommend not interrupting the collagen cycle with any other invasive skincare treatments. Why I like it: I've seen stunning results on acne scars using deeper-length needles. Our experienced Estheticians can use the right combination of needling and products to achieve truly remarkable results in treatment and recommend products for your home care. Between the two, you are on your way to radiant skin.
This is our most luxurious anti-aging treatment on the market! Imagine up-leveling your skin while you relax and sink into bliss. No more dull, and lax skin! Walk out of this treatment through a field of sunflowers with your sun shining right on you. Everyone will ask you what you have done to your skin because the change is literally immediate.
This luxurious treatment begins with our standard skincare consultation, where our expert Estheticians will have a discussion with you about your skin and the results you want. We will massage your skin and cleanse it and then analyze your skin under the magnifying light. Then we prepare your skin for the needling, don’t worry we make it as luxurious as we can, but you will feel a vibrating sensation.
After the needling is complete, we then introduce serums onto the skin so they can be penetrated deep down to the cellular level where we can make some changes to the skin. We add the Celluma LED light therapy to further help heal and penetrate and help with antiaging. The LED light will soothe your skin with a warm light frequency for best results. As you lie there we will exfoliate your feet and wrap them in hot steam towels as you step deeper into bliss. Your hands and feet will then be massaged.
Following the healing LED light therapy, a customized mask will be applied to your face to best fit your skincare needs. While the mask sets you will be in a dream state while your scalp, neck, and decollete are massaged. After we have you come back to reality we will give you aftercare instructions for best results at home. Your skin will look and feel amazing!

Microneedling is well tolerated by most men and women. You might feel a slight pricking or pinching sensation as the device glides over your face. Areas where your skin is thinner, such as your forehead and chin, are sometimes slightly more sensitive.
A series of microneedling sessions offer the best results. Your provider might recommend sessions every 4-6 weeks, depending on your specific needs. You’ll notice a change after the first treatment, which only gets better with subsequent treatments.
There is no pain, inflammation, bleeding, or discomfort. Nano-needling is very safe, non-invasive, and only affects the epidermis, making it both painless and very effective. Nano infusion is safe for all skin types and tones. There is no risk of post-traumatic hyperpigmentation, nor is there any recovery time. You feel a vibration and sensation much like a cat licking you with its rough tongue and emerge with rejuvenated, hydrated, glowing skin! When we adjust the needle to the Cosmetic level at .25-.5 mm or whatever is tolerated without numbing creme.
While the technique, machines, serums, treatment areas, and results are similar, nano-needling affects only the top .25mm of the epidermis while microneedling penetrates more deeply into the skin at .50mm. The benefits of this serum infusion treatment include pigmentation reduction, increased cell turnover, an increase in lift and tone, and an immediate glow with no downtime! The after-effects of microneedling usually include some redness in the treatment area that resembles a sunburn and fades in about 24-hours. Microneedling has roughly a 3-day healing period, which includes the avoidance of any sweat-inducing activities (salty sweat in freshly needled pores is no fun…believe us!) for the first two days and no sun or make-up for three days. With nanoneedling, you can immediately resume your normal activities (and don’t forget the sunscreen!) with no recovery time whatsoever.
Another major difference between the two techniques is that nanoneedling requires no numbing of the skin while microneedling does. This makes nanoneedling an excellent alternative for those with an allergy to lidocaine or with a dislike of needles. The sensation of nanoneedling is very much like being licked by a cat, or much like the feeling of a microdermabrasion treatment if you’ve experienced that before. It’s gentle and painless.
To the risk of post-traumatic hyperpigmentation, microneedling is often not recommended for clients with deep skin tones, however, nanoneedling is completely safe for all skin tones since the stylus has no needles and requires no healing after the procedure. All you’ll see is the radiant glow of newly revealed, healthy skin.
